Why Maurimar exists

Direct from the Atlantic. Built for B2B.

Direct from the source

We own the fleet, we know the boats, we know the captains. No intermediaries between the Atlantic and the container.

Built to premium quality standards

Every batch is graded against strict sensory and visual criteria demanded by the most demanding markets worldwide.

Flexible for any market

Whole or tenderized treatment, IQF or block, seven calibers, custom packaging — we ship what your market actually orders.

From boat to container

Six steps. One cold chain. Zero handoffs we don't control.

Capture → Selection → Transport → Processing → Freezing → Export. Every step is operated or supervised by Maurimar — that's how traceability stays unbroken from the boat that landed the catch to the reefer container that ships it.

Two seasons, one supply chain

Order at any time of year.

Maurimar fishes two peak windows — winter (Dec–Apr) and summer (Jul–Oct). Between seasons, orders ship from deep-frozen stock with identical quality controls and full ONISPA documentation.

Commit at season open to lock in priority pricing and first pick of caliber.

Winter Season — Dec 1 to Apr 30

5 months · peak T1–T4 · primary window for Japan and premium EU

Summer Season — Jul 1 to Oct 30

4 months · strong T3–T6 mix · food service and processing buyers

Stock available year-round

Between seasons, orders ship from deep-frozen reserve — same specs, same ONISPA docs.

What separates Maurimar from generic suppliers

Operational truth, not marketing language.

Most suppliers buy from auction, repack, and ship. Maurimar runs the whole chain — fishing, grading, freezing, exporting — under one set of standards. That is why our buyers do not call us when the spec sheet is fine; they call us when their lab caught something. We answer either way.

Own artisanal fleet — we control the catch.

On-site premium grading — same strict criteria for every market.

Single-batch traceability — boat to container, audit-ready.

Full export documentation — sanitary, customs, transit covered.

Seven calibers, one standard

From T1 (over 4 kg) down to T7 (around 0.5 – 0.8 kg).

Maurimar uses the West-African export caliber scheme. T1 is the largest, T7 is the smallest — the standard your importer's spec sheet already references.

T1over 4 kg
T23 – 4 kg
T32 – 3 kg
T41.5 – 2 kg
T51.2 – 1.5 kg
T60.8 – 1.2 kg
T70.5 – 0.8 kg
